Gorana Jerkovic

Gorana Jerkovic is a dual Croatian and British national and works as Director of Communications in the Vienna office where she’s leading communication and outreach activities with an emphasis on enhancement of SEforALL’s ability to deliver on its SDG7 objectives.

Gorana has a passion for and strong background in communicating global sustainability issues. Before joining SEforALL, she managed the communications portfolio of the European Union's Copernicus climate services at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) in Reading, UK. Previously Gorana oversaw the communication, dissemination and engagement activities of the ICOS ERIC, European carbon observation consortium based in Helsinki, Finland and led communications for several EU projects and global GHG initiatives.

Gorana also has extensive international media experience, most notably working as a journalist and editor at the BBC in London where she spent more than 10 years before specializing in environmental communication. She has a BA in Journalism and Media Studies, Master’s in Political Science and International Relations as well as Advanced Post-Graduate degree in Globalization, Environment and Development from University of London.

In her spare time, Gorana enjoys trying new veggie recipes and regular visits to her home town of Dubrovnik.
