Jem Porcaro is from the United States and leads the Integrated Energy Planning and Powering Healthcare programmes in the Washington, DC office.
Jem has nearly 20 years of experience working at the intersection of energy, climate and development. Jem came to SEforALL from the United Nations Foundation, where he led the Foundation’s energy access program.
Earlier in his career, Jem worked at Nexant, where he advised governments and multilateral development organizations in Asia on clean energy finance and policy. Before that, he co-founded a carbon management company and worked at the United Nations Development Programme, helping oversee its global energy portfolio and elevating clean energy access on the global development agenda.
Jem earned his master’s degree in international energy economics and policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. He also has a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from Tufts University College.
In his spare time, Jem enjoys traveling (especially to places with delicious food), cooking, playing tennis and spending time with family.
