Sherif Ayoub

Dr. Sherif Ayoub is the Senior Director of Finance and Operations at SEforALL. Dr. Ayoub has 25+ years of expertise in strategy, finance, investments, and economic development leadership roles in the U.S., Middle East, Asia, and Africa. He spent most of his career within multilateral development banks; he also has a deep understanding of development from his years working at the grass-roots level in Africa. Prior to SEforALL, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at APICORP where, in addition to overseeing (and building) the various departments in the Finance Complex, he spearheaded the launch of the ESG Policy Framework and Green Bond Framework as well as the energy transition in the investment/financing portfolio with a much greater focus on the utilities sector, particularly renewables. Before that, Sherif worked for the Islamic Development Bank Group from 2006 to 2019 where his last role was Senior Advisor, Office of the Vice President – Finance and CFO. Previously, he worked with A.T. Kearney, US Government, UNDP and the World Bank in different capacities.   

Dr. Ayoub acquired his PhD from the University of Edinburgh having earlier been educated at Columbia University (Masters) and Baldwin Wallace University (Bachelors). He served as a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter holder and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
