Souleymane Ba

Souleymane Ba is Partner and Co-Head of Climate Strategy at LeapFrog Investments, the profit-with-purpose investment firm that backs financial services, healthcare and climate solutions across growth markets in Africa and Asia. LeapFrog has twice been ranked by Fortune among the world's top five "Companies to Change the World".

Born in Senegal, Souleymane is helping shape a new approach to climate investing in emerging markets. As Co-Head of LeapFrog's Climate Strategy, he is leading efforts to deploy $500 million into green businesses that address local challenges through commercially viable, scalable solutions, including rooftop solar, electric mobility and clean cooking technologies. His work focuses not only on mobilising capital but also on shifting the narrative around climate action by placing entrepreneurs and locally developed business models in emerging markets at the centre of the global energy transition.

Souleymane brings more than two decades of global investing experience across public and private markets. He began his career in investment banking and private equity in the United States, holding roles at Morgan Stanley, The Carlyle Group and Warburg Pincus. He subsequently focused on investing across Africa and the climate sector, including leadership roles at Helios Investment Partners and Just Climate, before joining LeapFrog.

Souleymane holds a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a dual Senegalese and British national and speaks French and Wolof.
