In addition to receiving the Dr. Nayaduamma’s Award from the Honourable Minister Mr. Vainkaya Naidur, Government of India, at a function organized by Dr. Nayaduamma Centre for Development Alternatives on 13 November 2014, Dr. Yumkella will attend the following energy-related events:

Evening, 13 November 2014

The SRSG will address the Chennai-based business magnates and industrialists on the challenges and opportunities for getting the private sector empowered in energy-related projects, which serve as potential sources of sustainable energy for all across countries and continents.

14 November 2014

Dr. Kandeh Yumkella will visit Asia’s first Green Cath Lab and Kerala’s largest solar installation at NIMS Medicity. The NIMS Medicity is using solar energy for meeting around 60 per cent of its energy needs, which will soon be increased to 100 per cent. Even heart surgeries are performed, using solar energy. Dr. Yumkella will address the students of Mar Baselious Engineering College, Thiruvananthapuram, on the role of renewable energy for productive use.

Evening, 14 November 2014

The SRSG will deliver a speech on “Global Roadmap for the Sustainable Energy for All” at a function organised by the International Non-Governmental Cooperation on Renewable Energy (INGCORE). Following the speech he will inaugurate a new initiative on Development Debate emerging global issues and options. This event will be live telecasted in Web and followed by the members of INGCORE around the world.

He will deliver the valedictory address during the concluding session of a conference organized by the Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Chennai, 2014 on emerging renewable energy-based business opportunities.
