UN Secretary-General and World Bank Group President to Outline Action on Sustainable Energy for All

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim will make statements to media at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, on action to catalyze financing to achieve the objectives of the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative. The initiative, launched by the Secretary-General in 2011, seeks to achieve universal access to modern energy services, double the improvement rate of energy efficiency and double the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix. The Secretary-General and World Bank Group President will make their remarks after a meeting of the Sustainable Energy for All Advisory Board, which they co-chair. Several members of the Advisory Board—representing countries and companies—will follow with brief remarks on their individual sustainable energy initiatives.
