Harald Aspelund

Harald Aspelund is an Icelandic diplomat with broad experience in international affairs. He joined Iceland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1990 and has since held several senior diplomatic positions, including Permanent Representative to international organizations in Geneva and Deputy Permanent Representative of Iceland in Geneva and New York. He has also served in ambassadorial positions, representing Iceland abroad and advancing the country’s foreign policy and international relations. Throughout his career, Aspelund has represented Iceland in multilateral organizations and international negotiations, covering a broad range of political, economic, and diplomatic issues. His experience has given him extensive expertise in multilateral diplomacy and Iceland’s engagement with international institutions and partners.
