SEforALL is supporting the mobilization of financing to accelerate electrification efforts across Mission 300 countries, focusing on developing innovative financing solutions for grid and off-grid projects, crowd-in off private sector capital, and reduced risk perception of investment through data-based decision making.
DRE Africa Platform
SEforALL has partnered with the Africa 50, the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), and International Solar Alliance to develop a Pan African DRE Platform to drive equity and local currency financing for developers and investors .
The first phase of the Pan-African Platform has been launched in Nigeria, and will be replicated across priority countries.
Driving Private Sector Convening and Engagement
SEforALL is creating platforms for collaboration between governments, investors, DFIs, private sector actors, and philanthropies, to ensure finance is demand-driven, country-owned, and disbursed for viable and bankable projects.
We are supporting the improvement of the regulatory landscape to enable the deployment of innovative financing instruments/vehicles by Pension Funds and other institutional investors across Mission 300 countries.
We are also engaging with investors and partners to drive investment to the DRE Africa Platform as well as the individual country funds.
Capacity Building and Technical Assistance
SEforALL is supporting the financing ecosystem with data-based insights, and recommendations to unlock finance at scale.
We are developing capacity building initiatives for investment teams of Pension Fund Administrators and other institutional investors, a key barrier to accessing financing.
We are also undertaking assessments of capacity gaps related to renewable energy technologies, financing instruments, and risk return profiles of projects, as well as facilitating trainings to help mitigate knowledge risk and encourage participation in local currency
