Ghana has set one of Africa's most ambitious energy transition agendas. The country is pursuing universal energy access while accelerating economic growth, expanding renewable energy and building a pathway to net-zero emissions.
Since 2022, SEforALL has been working alongside the Government of Ghana to translate this ambition into practical action. From developing a long-term energy transition and investment plan to supporting Mission 300 implementation and strengthening climate governance, we provide the technical expertise, planning tools and partnerships needed to turn national commitments into investment-ready programmes that improve lives.

Our Projects
In partnership with the Government of Ghana, SEforALL supported the development of Ghana's Energy Transition and Investment Plan, providing the country's first comprehensive roadmap to achieve universal energy access while moving towards net-zero emissions.
Building on this foundation, we are now supporting the development of the Ghana Energy Transition and Action Plan and Investments (GETAPI), a five-year implementation roadmap that brings together Ghana's energy transition strategies into a single national framework.
Working closely with the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, SEforALL is helping align priorities, identify investment opportunities and establish a practical pathway to deliver Ghana's energy transition goals.
As a Mission 300 country, Ghana has committed to delivering universal energy access through a National Energy Compact that sets clear reform priorities and investment targets.
SEforALL is providing technical support to develop and implement the Compact in collaboration with the Government of Ghana, the World Bank, the African Development Bank and The Rockefeller Foundation.
Through the AfDB-funded Africa Energy Sector Technical Assistance Program (AESTAP)–Mission 300 Phase I programme, implemented by SEforALL, we are supporting the establishment of Ghana's Compact Delivery and Monitoring Unit (CDMU) to coordinate implementation, monitor progress and strengthen accountability.
A successful energy transition depends on strong institutions.
Working with the Office of the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, SEforALL is supporting the establishment of Ghana's National Climate Change Hub and helping operationalize climate change units across government ministries, departments and agencies.
The Hub will strengthen coordination across government, improve implementation of climate priorities and help mobilize financing to accelerate climate action.
Improving energy efficiency is one of the fastest and most cost-effective ways to reduce emissions while supporting economic growth.
Through the Mission Efficiency collective, SEforALL has established a national community of practice that brings together experts across government, industry and development partners to advance innovation in buildings, transport, appliances and industry.
This collaboration is helping build the policies, knowledge and partnerships needed to improve energy productivity across Ghana's economy.
