The Climate Vulnerable Forum is holding the first ever Virtual Climate Summit at the level of Heads of Government / State on 22 November 2018 convened by the Dr. Hilda Heine, President of the Republic of Marshall Islands and CVF Chair.

In light of the great urgency to act, the Summit will provide a platform for the vulnerable countries and their supporters to speak out on their efforts to step up climate ambition and action to stay below 1.5°C and “survive and thrive” in the face of climate change.

Leaders of the CVF Member States, currently 49 developing countries from Africa, Asia, the Americas and Pacific, will jointly share their stories of climate impacts, opportunities and increased action in a “Talanoa” spirit and be joined by leaders of observer non-member nations in a unique entirely online dialogue event coordinated from Majuro, the Marshallese capital.

The CVF, founded in 2009, is the only global intergovernmental body of collaboration exclusive to developing countries that are particularly highly vulnerable to the negative effects of climate change. It is a platform where member countries advance common issues at international level such as mobilizing a strong global response to limit global warming and providing adequate support to developing countries to take action on climate change.
