Nithya Ramanathan is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Nexleaf Analytics, a nonprofit group dedicated to preserving human and planetary health by creating sensor technologies, intelligent data analytics and data-driven solutions for global challenges. Nexleaf’s sensor technologies are used to protect temperature-sensitive vaccines for newborns, reduce air pollution by incentivizing cleaner cooking and protect produce for smallholder farmers. Nexleaf’s immunization platform, ColdTrace, developed with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Google.org, Gavi and Ministries of Health, protects the vaccine supply for over 12 million babies born each year.

With over 20 years of experience as a computer scientist, Ms Ramanathan has worked in research and hardware development at Intel and Hewlett-Packard, as an Assistant Research Faculty in Computer Science at UCLA, and has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Vaccine and Nature Climate Change.

She is a Switzer Environmental Fellow, a Rainer Arnhold Fellow and was named a Female Tech Pioneer in 2017.
