Just and Inclusive Energy Transition Compact
Clean energy is affordable, and accessible for all, especially in energy-poor regions.
Developing countries and marginalised groups receive the finance, technology, and support needed to make the transition and workers in retiring industries aren’t abandoned – they’re supported with new skills and good jobs.
Joining the JIET Compact is the first step to unlocking jobs, resilience, and healthier lives for people today, tomorrow, and generations to come.
The JIET compact was founded by the G20: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the United States, the African Union, and the European Union.
Jobs in every community.
Every dollar invested in renewables creates three times more jobs than fossil fuels helping to grow local economies.
Electricity for every home. Certainty for every family.
Renewable energy solutions bring reliable, affordable power. 789 million people still live without electricity - renewables can reach them.
Cleaner air and a brighter future for the next generation.
Switching to clean household energy could prevent 3.8 million deaths a year. Renewables can cut global GHG emissions by up to 70% by 2050. (IPCC)
