Council for Critical Minerals Development in the Global South

The Council for Critical Minerals Development is an initiative under SEforALL’s Green Industrialization Hub, focused on strengthening south-south and international cooperation to develop critical mineral value chains in the Global South.

Announced in May 2024 as a partnership between SEforALL, UC Davis and Swaniti Global, the Council supports governments in designing and implementing strategies that advance mineral beneficiation with forward linkages to national or regional manufacturing value chains. By advancing South-South collaboration and responsible value chain development, the Council strengthens countries’ capacities to build a new resource development paradigm that is more equitable and anchors climate action.
