CEO Yumkella: "SEforALL is about creating enabling conditions for partnerships…"

Attending the Second High-Level Meeting of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Sustainable Energy for All, Kandeh Yumkella, has informed over 400 high-level delegates that the initiative “Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is about creating enabling conditions for partnerships or creative coalitions among public, private and civil society actors, to catalyze significant investments for energy transitions.” Hosted jointly by the Ethiopian government and the African Union Commission (AUC) the summit sought to highlight the unique nature and success story of the Africa-EU Cooperation on energy and catalyze commitment and action towards meeting future energy challenges facing the two continents. Participants included policy-makers, representatives from regional institutions, international organizations, the banking and finance industry, the private sector, academia and civil society.
