Our teams

Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) has a staff of passionate professionals working across 5 teams – Executive Management, Policy, Partnerships, Communications and Operations  – located in Vienna, Austria and Washington, DC, United States.

Executive Management

The Executive Management team oversees the effective functioning of the CEO’s front office. This includes support for the CEO’s role as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Sustainable Energy for All and co-chair of UN-Energy. The team also covers Governance and supports the SEforALL Administrative Board and the Funders’ Council.

Policy

The Policy team creates and offers evidence and strategic insights. Our aim is to focus the global community's priorities and actions to drive faster progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) targets. The Policy team is organized around different SEforALL workstreams and interventions, such as Electrification for All in Africa, Energizing Finance, Cooling for All, Big Markets for Clean Fuels, Energy and Transport, Energy for Displaced People, and Energy and Health.

Team members bring expertise in different issues and areas relevant to the energy transition, including energy access and efficiency, electrification, transport, gender, health and finance. Typical roles in the team include project managers, subject matter experts and researchers.

Partnerships

The Partnerships team works to mobilize, support and connect organizations that are leading progress towards SDG7, with a focus on major companies, UN agencies, civil-society organizations and donors. We work to collect intelligence from these sectors, to respond to their needs and to connect them to our research and policy work.

The Partnerships team also works to grow and diversify the funding base for our work, drawing on new government support, philanthropy and private sector event sponsorships. Typical roles in the team include relationship managers, corporate leadership specialists, fundraisers, grant writers and researchers.

Communications

The Communications team supports our work by ensuring positioning of our key messages and disseminating our latest evidence. The team also supports SEforALL and our partners to communicate the opportunity to achieve SDG7. Roles in the team include media relations, speech writing, copy editing, graphic design, digital and social media.

Operations

The Operations team provides administrative, financial, procurement, travel and human resources support to SEforALL. The team also includes experts in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), a framework that lays out how SEforALL monitors its resources, activities and results; how assessments and analyses will guide implementation; and how monitoring and evaluation information will be used to improve SEforALL’s performance. Typical roles in the team include MEL experts, accountants, HR specialists and administrative support staff.
