With less than 10 years for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved, action is needed now. 2021 is a critical year for the energy and climate agenda. The SEforALL Youth Summit, sponsored by EM-ONE Energy Solutions and Clean Cooking Alliance, was held from 9-11 February to bring youth to the table ahead of critical upcoming global dialogues and to inspire active participation in the achievement of SDG7 by 2030 and the Paris Agreement by 2050.

With over 2,000 registrations from 134 countries, over 7.5 million potential hashtag reach for #YouthLeadSDG7, and over 50 youth and high-level speakers exchanging perspectives on critical paths forward, the inaugural Summit has achieved a true global reach.

The objectives of the SEforALL Youth Summit were to

  • Educate youth on the scope and importance of SDG7 for global development;
  • Connect youth across the globe to networks, academic and career opportunities in the energy sector
  • Inspire youth to actively participate in achieving SDG7 during the Decade of Action.

    "As the largest youth generation in history, these young energy leaders are our future—and what a bright future it is. That is why I strongly believe engaging youth in the energy transition is not just desirable, it is essential." Damilola Ogunbiyi

    The Summit platform remains accessible until the end of 2021.

    Recordings of the live Summit sessions and resources from participating organizations/institutions are available on demand on the platform and on the SEforALL YouTube page.
