Vision Statement by Ban Ki-moon, United Nations Secretary-General (November 2011)

Recognizing the importance and urgency of energy challenges, the United Nations General Assembly in 2011, declared 2012 the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All.

In this document, Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations explains in detail the Sustainable Energy for All initiative that seeks to identify and mobilize action by all stakeholders in support of energy access, energy efficiency and increasing the share of renewable energy. He also shares his vision regarding the High-Level Group he formed on Sustainable Energy for All to organize these efforts.
