Please join ClimateWorks’ Clean Cooling Collaborative for a conversation with the winner and finalists of the Million Cool Roofs Challenge. We will showcase the inspiring projects of our 10 finalists from around the world, and discuss successes, challenges, and opportunities for the wider international community.

Highly solar-reflective “cool” roofs are a proven, cost-effective approach to reducing indoor temperatures and mitigating the urban heat island effect. However, in many developing countries, awareness and uptake of cool roofs are very low or even nonexistent. Over the past two years, the 10 teams of the Million Cool Roofs Challenge have been on a mission to change that.

The Million Cool Roofs Challenge is a $2 million global competition designed to rapidly scale up the deployment of highly solar-reflective “cool” roofs in developing countries suffering heat stress and lacking widespread access to cooling services. The Challenge is a project of the Clean Cooling Collaborative in partnership with the Global Cool Cities Alliance (GCCA), Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), and Nesta’s Challenge Prize Centre.Local Champions for a Global Movement: A Conversation with the Winner and Finalists of the Million Cool Roofs Challenge
