Advancing SDG7: Energy Compacts Progress Update 2025

The 2025 Energy Compacts Annual Progress Report provides a comprehensive overview of global progress toward achieving SDG7 – Affordable, Reliable, Sustainable, and Modern Energy for All. Since the launch of the Energy Compacts in 2021, more than 209 proponents have committed over USD 1.6 trillion, with USD 284 billion already mobilized. According to the report, Compact signatories have contributed to expanding electricity access for 285 million people, clean cooking access for 33 million, alongside major advances in renewable energy deployment. UN-Energy, with support from Sustainable Energy for All, will convene this webinar to present the findings of the 2025 Energy Compacts Annual Progress Report and showcase signatory highlights from across Africa. The session will explore lessons, challenges, and opportunities to accelerate Energy Compact implementation and mobilize new commitments.
